A prominent leader of the PDP in Kwara State and the party’s candidate for Kwara Central senatorial district, Bolaji Abdullahi, has spoken concerning why Nigerian politicians often forget their party’s names in public. Bolaji revealed this during an interview with Premium Times.
Addressing the topic, Bolaji said, “People often laugh and make jokes about politicians who forget their party in public.” Such people would mistakenly say APC instead of PDP, and vice versa. However, we are all humans, and many of us have shuffled between both parties to the point of getting confused.
He continued, “There is a distinct difference between the APC and the PDP, and I have experienced both sides.” I can say that it appears to me that the PDP is structured to govern despite its limitations. This is why we have done poorly as an opposition party, as it is not our mission. However, the APC performed well as an opposition party. It appears from their track record that they were set up to do the job of an opposition party.
